DO SOME STORIES

DEMAND TO BE TOLD?

I believe they do, and I’m here to tell them—unapologetic, unflinching, unstoppable.

Portrait of filmmaker, producer, podcaster, writer, actor and activist Tiffany Hodges, sitting on the ground with arm rest over a bent knee, looking into camera

 Hi, I’m Tiff,

Through media, we

make change possible

You’re not imagining it — the system wasn’t built for us.
If you’ve ever felt unseen, unheard, or underestimated, you’re in the right place. I know the frustration of watching the same tired narratives dominate while real stories go ignored.

That’s why I create “active” media: to unearth bold, inclusive stories that spark cultural change, challenge oppressive systems, and center the voices of women and marginalized communities. Whether it’s through scripts, film, podcasts, Substack essays, or social content, my work is rooted in one mission: to shift culture and build community through storytelling that refuses to play small.

Because we don’t need more surface-level representation. We need truth. We need rage. We need beauty, nuance, healing — and we need each other.

So if you’re done waiting for a seat at the table and ready to build something bigger—let’s make media that matters. Together!

FILMS

Getting involved starts with hearing the call. What happens next drives media makers like you and I, and our audiences into action, or better yet, into a movement.

A say for all

Tiffany Hodges and her co-founder, Cristina Doikos, are the driving force behind FairSay Films—dedicated to creating bold, socially driven stories that ignite change. Their debut project, the original film DISPLACED, sets the tone for their mission. (Preview trailer here.)

FairSay Films is more than a production company—it’s a destination, a creative hub where storytellers, visionaries, and socially conscious voices come together to craft justice-focused, independent films. This is media that doesn’t just inform—it inspires action.

“You have a producer, writer & director that will undoubtedly make her mark. I am thrilled to have worked with her & I look forward to the future of working together again.”

— Cemí Guzmán | Dark Rabbit Productions Founder

Next on the Horizon: Riding the wave of overwhelming support for their first film on immigration, Tiffany and Cristina are already developing their next short film on women’s rights. They are also writing a feature film treatment about the origin story of the religious right.

Do you have a story that matters? Do you want to tell it?

Let’s bring your vision to the screen.

What do you do, when the world says to go home?

“Displaced provides a provocative glimpse into the arbitrary and confusing legal system that immigrants have to navigate daily. The movie will not leave your mind and it may, as it has for this reviewer, encourage you to help immigrants in your own city. Especially poignant in today's political climate, Displaced is as powerful as it is badly needed.

DISPLACED

Inspired by true events, DISPLACED follows Tina (played by Tiffany Hodges), a privileged woman who volunteers to help undocumented immigrants navigate their court appearances. Her mission is to humanize them in the eyes of the Judge, but each asylum case is more devastating than the last. One detainee must prove that the torture he endured will continue if he is sent back. A soft-spoken single mother is silenced by an administrative technicality. A hardworking student is accused of gang affiliation simply for wearing a Chicago Bulls cap. By day’s end, one refugee suffers a heartbreaking loss — leaving Tina forever changed.

Among Other Things & Mommy Has Questions

Among Other Things isn’t just a substack—it’s a mom’s collective and gathering place for women and mothers who are done with the status quo. It’s for those who feel their rights slipping away, their voices pushed to the margins, and yet refuse to be quiet. Co-founded and written by Tiffany Hodges, AOT is where honest conversations spark radical ideas, and motherhood becomes the starting point—not the limit—of change.

Presented by Among Other Things, the podcast Mommy Has Questions—co-hosted and directed by Tiffany—takes these conversations even deeper, pulling no punches as it explores what it means to build an equalitarian future, one truth at a time. Together, the collective and podcast form a collaborative space for storytelling— designed to ignite cultural transformation.

This is for the moms who are tired of being told to “wait their turn.” The women who know that when we speak, the world shifts.

Because here, we’re not just talking about change. We’re making it.

Amplified Voices Support

  • They're saying everything... These women are articulating my inner thoughts. I feel crazy for not being able to juggle everything as a working mom and I can see this podcast is going to be part of my "tribe" , my tool to help get through this crazy mom life.

  • Everyone should be listenin... These women are not only saying out loud what I'm thinking on a daily basis, but they're also teaching, motivating, and introducing new ways of absorbing and processing our daily lives as women. An absolute must listen for everyone.

From humble beginnings, through the lens of an actress ready for change

TIFF’s STORY

  • I started out in front of the camera—chasing roles, chasing relevance, chasing a version of myself that fit someone else’s script. But somewhere along the way, I realized what I really wanted was to tell the stories I rarely got to see: complex, honest, and unapologetically rooted in identity, justice, and change.

  • As a half-Mexican woman from Texas, raised by a single mother and the youngest of four girls, I knew early on that I’d have to fight for the life I dreamed of. I was the only one in my family to go to college—putting myself through school at Stephen F. Austin State University, where I majored in theater and minored in dance. I spent a season performing at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater before packing up everything I had and moving to New York City on sheer grit.

Alone in Manhattan, I auditioned relentlessly, juggled side jobs to make rent, and kept going long after most people assumed I’d give up. But I didn’t. I stayed, built a life, fell in love, became a mom—and kept chasing that creative spark that first lit up in me as a little girl watching films like Thelma and Louise while doing community theater back in Texas.

  • Acting has always been my first love. It’s the place I feel most alive, most open, most connected. But even as I found success, the roles rarely reflected the depth or identity I carried. I was often told I was too brown to be white, too white to be brown. Cast as the “other woman” or the “sexpot”—never quite belonging anywhere.

So I started writing the roles I wanted to play. Stories that told the truth. Stories that held space for complexity, contradiction, and transformation. Stories that didn’t flatten women like me into stereotypes, but gave us breath, purpose, and power.

Now, whether I’m acting, producing, writing scripts, hosting a podcast, or building new worlds through film, I come back to the same question: Whose stories aren’t being told—and how can we make room for them?

Because for me, storytelling isn’t just a calling—it’s a way to change the world, one honest truth at a time.

  • I tell stories to spark change — the kind that make you think, feel, and question the systems holding women and minorities back. My work lives in films, scripts, Substack essays, social media, podcasts, and theater — all chasing that moment when someone says, “I’ve never thought about it that way before.”

I write a bi-monthly Substack for Among Other Things, a collective for moms and change-makers, where I unpack the inequities of motherhood. I also direct and co-host our podcast, Mommy Has Questions, a space for real talk and radical ideas.

My latest short film, DISPLACED, grew from my time accompanying undocumented immigrants to court. The cases I witnessed — and the people I met — changed me forever. The film was nominated for Best U.S. Short Film at the SOHO International Film Festival, premiered at the Burbank International Film Festival, and is now distributed to educational institutions worldwide through Collective Eye.

As a writer, my feature script TEXICAN placed in the top 10% for The Writers Lab (produced by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman), my comedy pilot TICK TOCK drew interest from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, and I’ve been commissioned for projects like Slipping Away, a short thriller on mental illness. My plays have been staged across NYC, and my soap opera parody for Days of Our Lives stars was performed by the cast in Montreal.

  • I co-founded FairSay Films to amplify marginalized voices and am a proud member of New York Women in Film & Television, SAG-AFTRA, and Actors’ Equity. Every project is another chance to use storytelling as advocacy — and, hopefully, to open someone’s eyes to a new way of seeing the world.
